No new information

We spoke with our agency on Tuesday and they did not have any new information for us. Two other families that I have connected with also spoke with their agencies. Same thing, no new information.

Potentially good news

I have read news about some movement in our region. It is hard to say whether it will affect us or not because decisions vary within the region depending on the judge. Some of the posts I am reading on blogs and chat boards seem encouraging!

Please continue to pray for a change of heart for our judge!

In the meantime, we are continuing to learn more and more about helping Riley Ann to heal when she comes home. Last night, we watched a webinar with Karen Purvis. It was titled Snack, Play, Love: The Connection Between Nutrition and Your Child’s Behavior. What a great resource! We love learning from Karen Purvis and we especially enjoy her calming voice.

I wanted to write even if I have no news to offer. I know how I am about the blogs that I read. I check them often for updates.

We are just waiting and praying that the judge would have a change of heart to go ahead and assign a court date.

We know that this is possible with the Lord. We are praying that He would move in a mighty way in Russian adoptions. There are so many loving families that are in the same place as us.

Praying!

Thank you all for your support, prayers, and encouraging words! We have a great agency with a team in Russia that is incredible. We saw this first hand....we know that they are working hard on our behalf to get Riley Ann placed into her home.

Not the greatest news

We received word that our judge wants to wait until the bilateral treaty is ratified before she will accept our paperwork for review. The treaty is expected to be ratified in June or July.

We are just waiting here at the Davidson house. Our case manager confirmed that our paperwork was forwarded on to Russia the same day that she received it. That was last Friday. Since it has been a week, it should be there and probably translated by now.

It is crazy that it has been almost a month since we left for trip #1. Wow...times goes by fast! Not fast enough when you are waiting on a court date though.

This week has been pretty normal. My current task is to begin working on Riley Ann's life book. This will be one of the resources that we use to teach RA about her adoption and how she was brought into our family. I went yesterday to gather supplies at Joanne's craft store and Hobby Lobby. I can't wait to get started on it!

I am just blown away by all the friends that I have made here that are adopting. One from Uganda, one from Bulgaria, one from Ethiopia, one from Ukraine, and one from China. Two of these families live in the neighborhood right next to ours. It is amazing to watch how God is moving in these adoptions. Pray for these families, too. Like our adoption, they are encountering the hurdles and frustrations that come with the process. Satan is an enemy of adoption and often comes at adoptive families full force! The wonderful news is that our God loves adoption and ultimately He is the one that is going to place all of these children in their forever homes!

This weekend is big for Russia. They are having their presidential election on Sunday, March 4. David and I have been watching documentaries to learn more about Russia's history. Wow, it interesting and eye opening! It has challenged my heart to really pray for the people there.

Please pray that the outcome of this election does not affect anything adoption related.

Love,
Amy
